September 29, 2005 King County Executive, Ron Sims came to town and "County gives $15M for White Center projects", I was surprise that the project is making the headline now, where some of those projects circulated in White Center Community since early 2002.
The Greenbridge Hope VI. project of $233 million developing by King County Housing Authority, which will have about 1,000 units of subsidized, low- and moderate-income homes and is set to be completed in 2013, and Rhonda Rosenberg was right about White Center community, which KCHA identifies as "the poorest community in King County." In my opinion White Center community is a poorest community in King County and it's will be staying poor because the project doesn't provide jobs training to local residents, how to use hammer and nails, and provides business to local business in the area. I had asked the same question to Ron Sims at Georgetown Community meeting regarding Southwest Airline, Sept. 26, "how many jobs did the county provided to local residents and businesses in White Center Community through this project?," I didn't get the answer.
Another hand $14,400 pilot call for fitting a 12,000-square-foot community center at White Center Park with wireless Internet access, where the businesses in Downtown White Center are suffering in years with the dedicated internet access of 14.4kbs, some is using the internet vs. satellite, and it is a little faster than 56K dialup.
