cost Seattle
Mayor Greg Nickels wants North Highline and is not dissuaded by the fact it will cause a deficit in the Seattle over and above what we have now. At one point several months ago Deputy Mayor Tim Ceis was quoted as saying it would cost $7.5 million over and above what will be generated by taxes paid by the citizens of North Highline.
Mayor Nickels may have a "soft spot for the North Highline community" because he represented them as a King County Council member but he is now suppose to be representing we citizens in the city of Seattle and adding a negative debt of that amount is not in my humble opinion the say to do it.
Our Police Department and other agencies are shorthanded and over-extended as it is without adding more people and area to cover.
