Around 11:30 on Friday, an estimated 150 West Seattle High School students stood in an Admiral-area parking lot and cheered on a fellow student and a former student in a fight. On Monday, the mother of a student tried to take the girl out of school for a doctor's appointment. But school officials became concerned when the woman presented an alleged court parenting plan that was different than the one the school had on file (which stated that the father had custody). These "new" papers were not certified, and the mother refused to allow the school official to copy the documents. The girl's father was contacted by phone and stated that there was no change in the plan and that the girl should not be released to her mother. An officer arrived on scene and noticed items in the document that made him suspect the papers were fraudulent. The situation escalated, with the mother yelling and grabbing the papers and then claiming to need to leave. Dad arrived with his lawyer, who immediately pointed out multiple discrepancies in the paperwork and stated they were, indeed fraudulent. The mom, who was pregnant, claimed to be having contractions and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. She will be investigated for felony fraud and for custodial interference.

Around 8:30 Tuesday morning, a Beach Drive resident was surprised by the sound of a key being inserted into the front door lock. The door handle didn't open, but the person on the porch tried to unlock it again. The homeowner looked out toward the street and saw a white male in his 30s, unshaven, with a ponytail, and wearing a dark shirt and pants. The stranger stopped for a moment at another nearby residence and then continued down the street on foot.
