Don't feel like preparing a meal after work? Buy quick prep stuff during the week and try cooking one new recipe a week, like on Sunday. Trader Jo's and QFC have pre-made meatloaf you can microwave for a few minutes. Isn't that better than grazing your way through the night on crackers, cheese, and cereal?
There are some great new organic soups available. Serve with iced tea, cheese, and blue corn chips or sprouted grain bread.
Pre-cut salads and veggies also decrease prep time. Buy organic, free range turkey burgers, add a little cheese and have a salad on the side. Caesar salads are really easy to make with shredded parmesan and dressing.
Have a lot of food on hand so you won't have to make a stop through the drive through, where you are likely to encounter the bad trans-fats, a lot of salt, sugar, refined flour, and very little nutrition.
If you are one that actually enjoys fast food for the flavor, then why not make it a treat and have it once or twice a week instead of every day? When I began to make my life more organic I still liked Chicken McNuggets. I remember going to the beach with a 10-piece box, sweet and sour sauce, and a large diet coke. Now I can't imagine the last time I ate them or when this craving will actually strike again.
