Recently several coyotes have moved into Schmitz Park. They have been seen by numerous people. There have also been stories going around that people are feeding these animals.

Please understand that coyotes eat house cats! Have you seen the signs for the lost cats?

Schmitz Park does not offer a lot of food for these animals. When you feed them, you encourage them to hang around in our neighborhood. You tell them that this is a good hunting area. You encourage them to prey upon our pets.

These animals are not some wildlife attraction that you should be baiting so that you can catch a glimpse of them. They are pest animals that are eating our pets. Please! Stop feeding them! Stop putting out food, and bring your pets' food inside.

Report (coyotes) to the Department of Fish and Wildlife and ask that they be removed. They do not belong here!
