Coffee for a nickel?

A recently opened restaurant in White Center offers drip coffee for five cents a cup to customers ordering breakfast. Since breakfast is available anytime at Chef Simon's, the nickel coffee flows all day.
Tina Nguyen and Simon Nguyen, the chef, own the new cafe. They serve American, Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine and are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lunch prices start at $4.50. Dinner prices range from $6 to about $9.
Chef Simon's is located where the Cookbook Caf/ operated for years, on 14th Avenue Southwest a few doors south of Roxbury Street. Senior citizens can order lunch anytime.
Hours: 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

Dietary reinforcement
A new Super Supplements store opened this month in the center of the Junction, at California Avenue and Alaska Street.
Manager of the new West Seattle store is Patty Osborn.
Founded in Seattle in 1994, Super Supplements is a privately owned company selling vitamins, herbs and dietary additions for nutrition and sports. The nonfranchised company has stores in the University District, North Seattle, Bellevue, Renton, Spokane Valley, Bellingham, Olympia and soon in Federal Way and Coeur d'Alene.

New threads in White Center
There's a hip new girls' and young women's clothing store in White Center called Kiki Corona with tops, pants, skirts, shoes, purses and jewelry.
The merchandise is for girls as young as 13 to women of 30, much of it from Los Angeles. There's apparel for clubbing as well as casual wear. Prices range from $1.50 for a toe ring to $35 for a pair of high heels.
The store's name is a takeoff on that of owner Enrique Corona. He remodeled the space himself.

Convenience store changes hands
The new blue neon sign indicates the Juneau St. Market has taken over the storefront previously occupied by the 50-50 Food Mart. Prior to that it was known as Jimmy's Grocery.
The new owner is Wasseem Nasif. He's installed a new self-serve espresso stand and is selling Lotto and Scratch tickets. The market also offers a new frozen meal section.
