During an argument, a man threw his girlfriend, a 21-year-old West Seattle resident, into the water at Fishermen's Terminal. After that, she decided to break off their relationship. This decision was made easier when she discovered that the name she knows him by is not his real name, that he is older than she, and that he uses three Social Security numbers. He's been calling, trying to woo her back. An officer explained that she could get a court order against him, but she'd need to know his real name and address. But that's a problem: Although they dated for two years, and although they are the parents of an infant, she knows only that he lives somewhere in the Central Area.
Two Highland Park men spotted a man breaking into a friend's vehicle. When the suspect saw the witnesses coming after him, he tried to escape on a bicycle. But one of the men grabbed him and threw him to the ground. The two then held him until officers arrived. The 23-year-old suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of vehicle prowling.
In a similar incident, a woman spotted a suspect trying door handles. She and two friends then saw him get into a neighbor's car. The three surrounded the car and called 911. This suspect, age 24, was also booked into the King County Jail for investigation of car prowling.
A customer at a Westwood tanning salon was angry that she wouldn't be allowed to tan for an extended period of time. After complaining at the front desk, she returned to the tanning room to gather her things. After she left, an employee discovered nearly $10,000 worth of damage to the tanning bed, which is now inoperable.
Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of SW Holden after a woman screamed, "my boyfriend is beating me" on a 911 call. Upon arrival, they heard a loud argument that stopped suddenly when the officers knocked on the door. Three to four minutes went by before a woman opened the door, demanded to know why officers were there and denied that anyone besides she and her child were present. She got hostile when officers said they had to check the premises to be sure everyone was all right. The woman refused access and, while holding her child in her arms, shoved an officer several times. A male suspect was found in an upstairs loft but refused orders to show his hands. He was finally handcuffed. He was interviewed and released but will be charged with obstruction. She was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault. Records show five similar incidents at this address in the past year.
