Thank you Lori Hinton for the thoughtful story in the West Seattle Herald about the Hickman House and for sharing with your readers' ways in which they can support us through the Giving Tree at Capers.
The families arrive at Hickman House often traumatized and struggling to overcome the many difficulties associated with homelessness, domestic violence and poverty. We work with them to help increase safety, self-determination and social support. We could not do so without the generous support from all of you.
The outpouring of support that the customers of Capers expressed overwhelmed us. The gifts kept coming and coming. The loving consideration of the families at Hickman House is very much appreciated.
We would like to extend an additional thank-you to Lisa Myers for providing her beautiful store as a collection site, for the support of the Capers staff and for the festive giving tree that was set-up on our behalf. We are truly grateful.
