Editor's Note: This letter was addressed to the Admiral Safeway store manager, with a copy to the West Seattle Herald.
An article in (the March 14) West Seattle Herald concerning the newly enforced parking regulations prompted this letter. Your parking lot is yours to (do) with as you see fit but short-sightedness is an understatement.
I have been a loyal customer since moving to the area about nine years ago usually spending upwards of $4,000 yearly. Never have I seen your parking lot so full I had to leave to shop elsewhere. Even long-term parkers rarely occupy the south side of the lot but I've never even had to use that side.
Where do you and your employees park? That would (be) the logical place is concern for your customers.
I would rather go out of my way and shop elsewhere than go to a store that prevents me from taking 5 or 10 minutes of parking lot time to drop off cleaning, run to Washington Mutual, or get a key made. What's next, a minimum purchase requirement for using the lot?
The one question I have for you is how will the lot be enforced? Will there be a "take a number" system, someone watching or perhaps cameras? Do we now have a time limit in which to get the shopping done?
I will be awaiting your reply.
