A transient was seen entering a Highland Park yard and defecating in the driveway. In his report, the officer noted that the resident, a 90-year-old widow, was not home at the time of the "illegal dumping."

A Morgan Junction store clerk refused to sell beer to a man and woman who were already intoxicated. In protest, the man went outside and kicked the clerk's car. The clerk told him to stop, and the two began to scuffle. The drunken man managed to stab the clerk in the abdomen. When police arrived, they found the bleeding victim pinning the suspect to the ground. Officers took the suspect to King County Jail for investigation of felony assault. The victim was transported to Harborview for treatment.

Clerks at a Delridge convenience store called 911 to report that a man was bothering customers. When officers arrived, they saw a yelling man flailing his arms and removing his clothes. After he stripped to his boxers, the man began doing push-ups in the parking lot and spitting at the officers and their car. He was transported to Harborview for an evaluation.

Teachers and classmates became concerned after a 7-year-old girl tied a scarf around her neck and acted as if she were trying to strangle herself. When questioned by school staff, the girl stated, "My friends don't like me. I'm going to kill myself." The girl later admitted that she wanted some attention, and by the time officers arrived she had calmed down and said she no longer intended to hurt herself. Staff alerted family that the girl had tied a scarf around her neck in this way earlier in the month as well. The girl's parents agreed to pursue necessary treatment and counseling.

At a Highland Park residence, officers captured a wanted man who had over $20,000 in warrants and was listed on the 10-most-wanted list of the Major Crimes Task Force. He was found in a crawlspace, trying to hide under a piece of insulation. He was booked into King County Jail on the warrants and, because he hid from officers, also for investigation of obstruction.

After seeing a mother slap a crying baby and then shove it into a stroller, a concerned Metro passenger actually left the bus and called 911. Officers were unable to trace the mother's whereabouts.

A red, 1998 Ford Windstar van has been seen in the area of several suspicious house prowls and burglaries in the Genesee Hill area.

Two car prowls and five domestic violence incidents were reported in greater West Seattle last week.
