Paving crews will begin work on Southwest Admiral Way between 41st Avenue SW and SW Olga Street, this week.
Beginning Thursday, Admiral Way will be reduced to one lane in each direction, and will remain in this configuration 24-hours-a-day unless additional closures are required, until the end of the project. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible.
During the nights of July 5 and 6, the contractor plans to close Admiral entirely to westbound through traffic at the West Seattle Bridge exit and Southwest Spokane Street, with a detour to Fauntleroy Way. Local access will be allowed for drivers going to destinations on Admiral south of Olga Street. For access to Southwest Olga and adjacent streets within the project limits to the west (37th, 38th, 39th, Belvidere, and Walnut), drivers must approach from the west.
The contractor will grind off the old asphalt from the roadway surface. Nearby residents should expect noise from this operation. Paving on Admiral will be completed by mid-August.
