Concerning the May 23 White Center News article by Tim St. Clair ("What if we had an election and (almost) nobody came").
There were only 32 votes cast in this recent May 19 North Highline Unincorporated Area Council election. That averages out to one person out of 1,000 residents voted?
This poor showing tells me that the North Highline Unincorporated Area Council needs new alignment and direction to attract the community, take responsibility and make things happen.
One former council member stated the council does not do anything and I have to agree.
The president of the North Highline Unincorporated Area Council was elected with only four votes. That is a number not to be proud of.
Very seldom do you see a former council member attend a meeting after their term ends. Is there a reason?
Hope the newly elected council members take the required action to make this council a viable addition for residents of the North Highline area.
