Arm twisting

Some local elementary school children decided to flirt, 21st-century style: the boys sent photos of their "privates" to some girls' cell phones, and the girls responded by sending photos of their breasts. When the principal called in one parent to discuss the issue (and to show him some of the images), the father allegedly lunged across the table and fought the principal for the cell phone. After literally twisting the principal's arm, the father got the phone and began deleting the evidence before leaving the building. Dad was interviewed by officers.
After UPS stopped by one day on 50th SW, some thieves helped themselves to some packages left on a porch.
Getting in her car at Southcenter Mall, a local girl was confronted by a man who knew where she worked (he called to her by the name of her employer) and who tried to get her into his car. She yelled and acted "tough" to intimidate him, and he backed off. But a little while later, she noticed him outside her home, where he had obviously followed her. He was a white male who drove a white, "boxy," '80s Honda or Toyota.
Though he called off the "chase" when the motorcyclist reached dangerous speeds of 60 to 70 mph on local streets, an officer slyly followed the reckless driver from Alki up to California Avenue and to the Junction. And just when the Burien man thought he had eluded his pursuer, the intrepid officer pulled in front of him and blocked his escape path. The 25-year-old (who had pulled into opposing lanes of traffic to go around drivers) was booked into King County Jail for investigation of eluding and for an existing $1,000 DUI warrant. A second officer at the scene recognized the suspect as someone who had sped away from him two weeks earlier. The man's motorcycle was impounded.
A young woman is the most recent to report a strong-arm robbery at a local bus stop, this time at Delridge and Thistle. The victim noticed the car (a green Toyota, she thinks) drive by several times. Then three heavy-set Hispanic females wearing white hoodies exited the car and demanded her purse and struck her before returning to the car and driving off.
Depressed over his gambling debts, a local man threatened to harm himself and his children. He was booked into Harborview for an evaluation.
A 24-year-old mom who lost her residence and was living out of her car called Child Protective Services and asked to turn over her young daughters to protective custody until she could get back on her feet. CPS directed her to the Southwest Precinct, where she spoke with officers who arranged for the little girls (who were both happy and in good health) to be picked up by a caseworker.
