... and it will never happen!!! West Seattle is too overdeveloped ... and in the wrong way!!
The Mayor of Seattle (who lives in West Seattle) doesn't care either!! I wrote to him in April with the same problem ... nothing in walking distance from the High Point Development! I also thought it might a be a good place to move ... all green, management said they would be sure to keep things "clean."
Our Mayor, said, "ride the bus, use a bike, take Metro for Seniors."
When the developers of High Point came to our community meeting, they told us there would be all kinds of services available. A grocery store would "probably" be on 35th where the U-Haul is ... little shops would be along 35th with condo's above. It would be "a little village" with all our needs right where we live.
Well, I guess that proves, "don't believe everything you hear or read." The developers now say there isn't a need for another grocery store in West Seattle. (I read this in the West Seattle Herald a year or so ago!) But notice, Admiral is getting a Trader Joes! West Seattle Junction Area is getting a QFC and a Whole Foods! So, the mayor wants people to cut down on driving, keep things green, how can we when nothing is close by unless we are rich enough to live in the Junction Area or Admiral area.
