I don't understand why you would want to pit child safety against bike safety. Since my kids are bike commuters they'd benefit from having both sidewalks and bike lanes. Why can't we have both? What's next, funding for 911 vs. kids, storm sewer projects vs. kids? This is one of the most bone-headed editorials I've ever read in your paper.
