I will not be able to attend the viaduct meeting in West Seattle on Feb 12, but I wanted to thank you for holding it and compliment Mr. (Matthew) Miller and others on the excellent coverage in the West Seattle Herald.
I just want one point to be heard loud and clear, and I'm sure this will be echoed at the meeting. "It is not all about downtown." Many, many residents and businesses use the viaduct to go through downtown. Many times of the day it is the only viable alternative. It is quick, efficient and relatively free flowing compared to side streets or downtown.
It would be appalling to dump more idling vehicles into the existing non-viaduct gridlock.
