At the Junction, a bike rider didn?t like being cut off in traffic. So he retaliated by cutting in front of the truck at a stoplight. When the light turned green and the driver started to go around him, the bicyclist swung his arm and fist into the driver?s open window. But as the truck drove away, the cyclist?s arm was still inside and he was drug for a short time. Witnesses also say that during the verbal altercation that followed, the cyclist shoved the driver. Both were given case numbers. The cyclist?who is considered the suspect?was released from the scene with his two daughters, aged 12 and 13, who saw the event unfold.
Near Fauntleroy and Juneau, a driver saw a teen lying in the middle of an alley. Concerned, she drove near to check on him. He tried to stand up and vomit, and then banged on the car window before climbing into the back seat. Startled but not scared, the driver waited for officers to arrive. The 16-year-old smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech and glassy, watery eyes. He admitted he?d been drinking at a nearby party. He was turned over to his parents.
A barefoot 23-year-old stole an energy drink from an Admiral convenience store and told the clerk to call the cops. Officers found the man down the block. He repeatedly asked them to take him to jail so that he could get free food and a place to sleep. Officers asked why he was wearing latex gloves; he said it was to prevent him from contaminating the rest of his body with his foot fungus (which officers could see when they looked down and noticed his bare and infected feet). While waiting for an ambulance, the young man began to talk irrationally and claimed to be an alien. He was booked into Harborview for treatment.
When officers told a woman parked at the 35th and Avalon 7-11 that they knew she was driving a stolen car, she accelerated and backed up....straight into a second police car. Officers drew their weapons as she frantically pawed through items in the vehicle and refused to show her hands. Taken to the ground, she apologized and said that the bag she was looking for contained her drugs, and that she is a meth user. The 30-year-old Everett resident was booked into King County Jail.
