Once again, the community of the Highline School District has the opportunity to show its support for children and schools. And once again, the district is asking for voters to step up to the plate and vote YES to support the bond issue to rebuild schools in desperate need of remodeling and repair.
What a great opportunity of show our children that the nicest buildings in the community don't have to be the banks. What a great chance to show our children that we care enough about them to build schools that are beautiful and functional and enduring.
Our public school system has been fundamental to ensuring opportunities for children to reach their academic potential regardless of race or economic background in pursuit of the American dream.
We have a tremendous amount of work to do in order to help our schools live up to these expectations.
One way we can increase our investment in the school system is by creating new facilities that are safe (free of mold and asbestos) and that are equipped with the state of the art technology needed to prepare our children for the future.
You can help strengthen our commitment to education and to our community by voting for the school bond on Tuesday, March 14. This bond will fund four new schools in the Highline area as well as to increase technology in other schools in our district.
