A 22-year-old man was shot and killed March 11 while in his house in the 500 block of Southwest 99th Street in White Center.
According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, a car pulled up to the home and an occupant of the vehicle then fired multiple gunshots into the house.
At least one bullet hit the man, they said.
The victim’s father, who was in the house at the time of the shooting but was not injured, called the sheriff’s office 8:20 a.m.
Detectives believe the man was either staying or living with his father.
No motive for the shooting has been given, and there were no suspects or suspect descriptions at deadline.
Smash-and-grab thefts
King County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 44-year-old man they believe is responsible for a series of smash-and-grab burglaries over the last three months.
The burglaries started in January. Six occurred in the past two weeks, according to sheriff’s Sgt. John Urquhart.
The area in which these burglaries occurred ranges from Burien to Southeast King County.
The suspect was apprehended after he was pulled over for a routine traffic stop around 6 p.m. March 15 near South 188th Street and Des Moines Memorial Drive.
While talking with the deputy, the suspect suddenly drove off. Law enforcement officers were unable to locate him immediately.
He was arrested later in Redmond and turned over the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Truck driver assaulted
A man was charged with fourth degree assault after attacking a tow-truck driver in the 17300 block of 32nd Avenue South in SeaTac shortly after 6 a.m. March 6.
The tow-truck driver was impounding the man’s car when the suspect assaulted him and drove his car off of the tow truck in defiance.
Indecent exposure
A man exposed himself in front of a group of girls who attend Chinook Middle School in the 18600 block of 42nd Avenue South in SeaTac around 8 a.m. March 8.
The suspect said “hi” to the girls, then exposed and inappropriately touched himself.
He was not located by SeaTac police.
