Sealed bids for Base Bid Work (Part 1) will be received by the Highline School District No. 401 up to, but no later than 6:00 P.M. on the 11th day of May 2006, in the Purchasing Department of the Educational Resources and Administrative Center, 15675 Ambaum Boulevard Southwest, Burien, WA 98166 for:

CEDARHURST ELEMENTARYSCHOOL REPLACEMENT
Sealed bids for Alternate Bids (Part 2) will be received by the Highline School District No. 401 up to, but no later than 7:00 P.M. on the 11TH DAY OF MAY 2006, at the same location. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at 7:00 p.m. In accordance with RCW 39.30.060, Bidders are to provide as part of the Alternate Bid submittal at 7:00 p.m. the required Subcontractor listing for base contract work and the required Subcontractor listing for the Alternate Bids, as well as a "Buy American Certificate" and either a "Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Proposal Form" or a "Documentation of Good Faith Efforts" form.
Bidders must also be aware that this project will comply with all applicable requirements of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instructions (O.S.P.I) and of the Federal Aviation Administration and Port of Seattle for public funding.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, or bid bond (with authorized surety company as surety) made payable to Highline School District No. 401, King County, Washington in the amount of not less than 5% of the base bid.
Prior to the execution of the contract, the bidder shall be prepared to furnish statutory performance and payment bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract sum plus sales tax as described in the Instructions to Bidders and Contract Documents. The obligee shall be the Highline School District No. 401. All bonds required in this invitation or under the contract documents shall be issued by a state authorized bonding company licensed to transact business in King County and the State of Washington with an A.M. Best policy holder's rating of A- or better and a financial rating of no less than VIII.
The estimated construction cost for the Base Bid Work is between $15,000,000 and $15,500,000
A MANDATORY PRE-BID MEETING WILL BE HELD ON:
Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 1:00 P.M.

Any General Contractor submitting a bid must have a representative in attendance at substantially all of this Pre-Bid Meeting. All others interested in the project are encouraged to attend.
Bona fide General Contractors may obtain three (3) sets of bidding documents, and Mechanical and Electrical Contractors may obtain two (2) set and other Subcontractors may obtain one (1) set from Ford Graphics/Reprographics NW, 632 Broadway, Tacoma WA 98402 upon submittal of a refundable payment of $200.00 per set. Checks will be refunded provided returned complete sets of documents are in satisfactory condition and are returned to Ford Graphics/Reprographics NW no later than ten (10) days following opening of bids. Checks shall be made out to Highline School District No. 401. Bidders may pick up these documents by making prior arrangements with the Bid Services Department by calling (800) 337-8103, faxing a request to (253) 274-8775, or e-mailing a request to bidtac@fordgraphicsnw.com. Documents will be shipped United Parcel Service upon request. Bid documents may be viewed and ordered on the Ford Graphics web site at www.fordgraphicsnw.com "Plan Well" Department Bidding documents will be available Wednesday, April 12, 2006. Should a Contractor or Subcontractor wish additional sets they may obtain them from Ford Graphics/Reprographic NW by paying the cost of reproduction. Only complete sets of contract documents will be issued.

The Board of Directors of Highline School District No. 401, King County, Washington, reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities.
No bidder may withdraw its bid after the hour set for opening thereof, or before award of contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding forty-five (45) days after bid opening. Alternates may be selected within 45 days after date of contract execution.
