Four firefighters from the SeaTac Fire Department are working in the Gulf Coast region devastated by Hurricane Katrina.
Capt. John Gallup and Firefighters Don Nelson, Shane Sklandany and Matt Tarabochia are assisting the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) community relations efforts. This includes helping displaces residents and evacuees in this time of need.
When Fire Chief Robert Meyer asked for volunteers to be deployed, over half of the SeaTac department responded.
Gallup, Nelson, Sklandany and Tarabochia will serve in the Gulf Coast region for at least 30 days and longer if needed.
