Girls soccer

Grace Lorette scored two unassisted goals to lift Evergreen Lutheran High School of Des Moines past North Sound Christian. Amy Anderson earned the shutout on goal in the Saturday, Oct. 15 action.
Mt. Rainier 1, JFK 0
Mount Rainier solidified its first place position in the Seamound League King Division with the Tuesday, Oct. 18 victory. The Rams improved to 9-2-0 while Kennedy and Lindbergh are at 7-2-1.
The only goal Mount Rainier needed came in only the seventh minute of play when Shelby Blair scored on a Mariesa Mesaros assist. Anne Bertucio made 12 saves in earning the shutout.

The Wolverines took a shutout loss Tuesday, Oct.18.
SCS 2, Vashon Is. 1
Seattle Christian received two goals from Noelle Simpson in the Tuesday, Oct. 18 win. Simpson scored unassisted in the 34th minute and Elissa Kane assisted her in the 80th.

Evergreen Lutheran was shut out by The Bear Creek School in Sea-Tac B League action Wednesday, Oct. 19.
SCS 7, Chimacum 0
Simpson scored two goals Thursday along with SCS teammate Lisa Lieudeman. Tiana Hornad, Alyssa Harney and Rachel Busick all scored one. Jessica Kane earned the shutout.

Cris Lewis and Ashley Engle shared the Lancers' shutout Thursday.
Jackie Thomas scored on a Stefani Vert assist with 10 minute elapsed and Dani Diaz scored on a Thomas assist in the 14th minute. Lauren Donlin scored on an assist frm Laissa Nuss and Thomas two minutes later. Gabby Besaw scored one minute after that on a Vert assist and Nuss scord on a Diaz assist in the 20th minute. Stephany Depew scored in the 22nd minute on a Riley Boblenz assist and Siera Miller was assisted by Amanda Arntz in the 30th minute. Thomas was assisted by Vert in the 51st minute and Boblenz by Lewis in the 70th. Boblenz turned around to assist Lewis in the 78th.

Brianna Lemar and Stephanie Hoag split a shutout Thursday. Leesa Johnson scored on an assist from Whitney Wagner and Kayci Donatelli in the sixth minute and Donatelli struck on a Wagner assist in the 14th. Lindsey McLaughlin put in a Kaitlin Heinsohn and Donatei assist in the 15th minute and Heinsohn struck unassisted in the 26th. Deanna Knox was assisted by Rachel Jones in the 32nd. Joie Howell assisted Wagner in the 40th minute.

Foster outlasted Seattle Christian by a 25-12, 21-25, 25-13, 25-13 score Monday, Oct. 17.

Kennedy posted a 25-20, 25-22, 25-10 victory over the Rams in Seamount League King Division action Monday, Oct. 17.
Stephanie Slatt scored seven kills and two aces for JFK, while Rachel Moran had 17 assists, three kills and three aces and Brittany Montgomery four kills and four aces. Angela Smith had three kills and 10 digs.
For the Rams, Sel Barakel had one ace, nine digs and five kills and Lorrin Rondeau two aces, seven digs and two kills. Leka Kaufusi had two aces, one block and 10 kills and Alvina Fesili one ace, two digs, one kill and 19 assists. Louisa Kaufusi had one ace, one dig and three kills and Shawna Madson 16 digs.

The Pirates cruised to a 25-11, 25-5, 25-11 victory over the Totems Monday, Oct. 17.

Christian Faith came away as a 25-23, 25-21, 20-25, 13-25, 15-13 winner Tuesday, Oct. 18.

The Lancers improved their record to 13-0 in Seamount King Division action with the Wednesday, Oct. 19 win.
Kennedy slammed Renton, 25-5, 25-9, 25-4, and assured itself of the division title.
Stephanie Arntz had 15 assists and one ace, while Angela Smith had eight aces, one assist and three kills and Ashley Smith had four kills.
Highline 3, Evergreen 0
The Pirates prevailed by a 25-18, 27-25, 25-17 score Wednesday and is assured of second place. Highline had an 11-2 record and a two-game lead over third place Mount Rainier (9-4) with one match to go. Evergreen fell to 5-8 for sixth place.
Highline's Ashley Vaughn had 30 assists, three digs, two kills and one ace and Rachel Johnston six aces, seven kills and 10 assists.

Mount Rainier handily put Lindbergh away Wednesday, Oct. 19 by a 25-6, 25-17, 25-22 score.
Leka Kafusi had three aces, two digs, three blocks and seven kills and Alvina Fesili scored 18 assists and two digs. Barakel had two aces, five digs, two blocks and 10 kills and Lynnae Wilson four aces, one dig and three kills.
Lindbergh fell to 6-7 for fourth place with the loss.
Hazen 3, Tyee 0
The Totems took a 25-13, 25-19, 25-16 loss to the Highlanders Wednesday, dropping their record to 0-13 as Hazen improved to 6-7.
Barbara Yandell had six aces, one kills, two blocks, three digs and nine assists and Sarah Due oone ace, three kills and two blocks. Moonie Fuavai had one ace, three kills, three blocks and one dig and Murphie Muir two aces, four kills, two blocks and one dig. Katalina Taimi had one ace and two blocks.

The Warriors were handed a 25-17, 25-18, 25-18 loss by Life Christian Wednesday.
Danielle Schulz recorded 10 digs for SCS and Gillian Linman eight kills, eight blocks and three digs.
Foster 3, Eatonville 1
The Bulldogs bounced Eatonville by a 25-13, 25-15, 18-25 score Wednesday, Oct. 19. Trisha Belcher led with 32 assists and Brittany Menard with 10 kills and four aces. Rossan Castro scored six kills and seven blocks and Jasmine Horton had five blocks.

Christian Faith of SeaTac scored a 25-14, 25-12 25-16 win over Chief Leschi of Puyallup Friday. Staci Ansotigue had 14 assists, six aces and five digs and Stephanie Howell two kills, 10 aces and three digs.

The Eagles cruised to a 25-13, 25-20, 25-13 victory Friday. Anna Genteke went 19-for-19 serving with three kills and seven assists, with Rude going 10-for-11 serving with five kills and eight assists. Stephanie Humann was 14-for-14 serving with two kills.
Football
Tyee 56, Highline 30
Tyee won its first game of the season in the Saturday, Oct. 15 action, while the Pirates remained winless for the 27th game in a row.
Mt. Rainier 28, Tyee 7
Mount Rainier rolled out to a 28-0 lead Friday, then Tyee scored its touchdown before halftime.
Mike Johnson scored all four of the Rams' touchdowns - a 74-yard run, a 34-yard interception return, a 43-yard run and a 28-yard run. Ricky Dorward made all four of the conversion kicks.
Tyee's touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Caleb Tuani and David Harshman kicked the extra point.
Eatonville 47, Foster 21
Sullivan scored on an 80-yard run in the Bulldogs' losing effort Friday. Later, Bell punched in a 2-yard run and Sullivan caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from Rodriguez. Kramer kicked one PAT and Uhila caught a two-point conversion from Rodriguez.
Boys tennis
Casc. Chr. 3, Foster 2
Brook Holadaas and Adnan Kapetanovic of Foster won the No. 1 doubles match by a 6-3, 6-3 score and the No. 2 doubles team of Kerim Lisovan and Nurko Huremovic won, 6-1, 6-1.
Foster 3, Eatonville 2
Dino Sarecevic won No. 2 singles for the Bulldogs by a 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 score and Nedim Lisovac won No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-3. Holadaas and Kepetanovic won No. 3 doubles, 1-6, 6-2, 7-5.
Golf
Seamount Tournament
Seamount League golf tournament action got underway at the Gold Mountain courses near Gorst Wednesday, Oct 19.
Mount Rainier won the girls team title with 229 points ahead of the 218 of Peninsula.
Kennedy was seventh with 168, with Highline 12th with 64 and Evergreen 13th with 45.
Peninsula won on the boys side with 146 points to second place Kennedy's 129. Mount Rainier was sixth with 109 points. Highline came in 10th with 95 and Evergreen 13th with 14.
Stephanie Corey of Mount Rainier won the girls title with a round of 78. Catherine Tart came in ninth with 96 points, with teammate Gina Song 11th with 98. Joanna Lockrem tied for 14th with a 100 score.
Chas Burns led the Kennedy boys with a round of 77 for third place and Highline's Jeff Nelson tied for fifth with an 80.
Griffin Day of Kennedy tied for seventh with an 81 and Austin Richards tied for 13th with an 83. Mount Rainier's Adam Caudillo finished 16th with an 84 and Travis Lee of JFK tied for 17th with an 85.
On the boys side the top 12 qualified for the state tournament next May with the next eight going into a playoff with Sequim and North Mason golfers for the final state berths.
For the girls, the top 11 finishers are going straight to state and the next nine into a battle with Sequim and North Mason.
State qualifier
Nelson nailed down second place in the boys tournament Thursday with a round of 74 after a 79 the day before. JFK's Burns was third with a 77 score the second day in a row. Day qualified seventh with a 77 and an 81.
Mount Rainier's Corey qualified first in the girls round with a 75 and a 78 and JFKs Stephanie Krueger was third with an 85 and a 90. Rachel Fullington of Evergreen qualified eighth with an 86 and a 100.
Peninsula won the boys side when both day's scores were added up, scoring 211 to Kennedy's189. Peninsula also won the two-day title on the girls side with a total of 151 to Mount Rainier's 127.

Hazen took first place in every event Thursday.

Kennedy took the opening 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1 minute, 58.84 seconds and Brianne Lindblad tied for first in the 50 free with a time of 25.20. Nikki Vetterlein took the 100 backstroke in1:03.03 and Allie Vetterlein took the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.72. The Lancers won the 400 free relay in 3:44.85.
Highline 99, Lakes 71
Highline won the 200 medley relay in 2:07.25 Thursday with Beth Cate taking the 200 free in 2:05.63. Mica Bailey won the 50 free in 26.61 and Brenda Foster took the 100 free in 1:00.48. Cate won the 500 free in 6:11.71 and Highline also won the 200 free relay in 1:52.84. Megan Low took the 100 back in 1:11.60 and Melanie Wu won the 100 breast in 1:21.50. Highline won the 400 free relay in 4:02.89.
Mt. R. 135, Fife 48
Mount Rainier opened by winning the 200 medley relay in 2:01.55 Thursday and Maggie Caetano won the 50 free in 27.02. Taylor Hall won diving and Maria Rice took the 100 fly in 1:03.73. Haley Gansneder took the 100 free in 57.12 and Allyson Schumacher won the 500 free in 5:11.62. The Rams took the 200 free relay in 1:48.54 and Laurel Bales won the 100 back in 1:05.71. Mount Rainier took the 400 free relay in 3:57.15.

Amy Baldwin took the diving competition for the Wolverines Thursday and Erika Aronson won the 100 fly in 1:19.36. Julie Hubbs took the 100 back in 1:15.44 and Evergreen also won the 400 free relay in 5:39.49.
