King County's 2005 Performance Network continues this weekend with "There Goes the Neighborhood," a conceptual piece created by artists Sutton Beres Culler.
The work will be at Des Moines Field House Park on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. during the Des Moines Pet Festival.
Field House Park is at 1000 S. 220th St.
There Goes the Neighborhood is a mixture of voyeuristic reality television and performance art.
The piece itself is a van-towed trailer transformed into a living room-in-transit outfitted with all the comforts of home.
A portable living room is inhabited by interactive performers, inviting those passing by to stop in and enjoy the space, a mobile room complete with couches, TV dinners and a fireplace.
"These site-specific performances are intended to surprise, to let you stumble upon great art where you might least expect it," noted sponsoring Arts 4Culture staff member Charlie Rathbun.
The event is presented locally by the Des Moines Parks & Recreation Department.
