Despite the vociferous group opposed to annexation (even before a Potential Annexation Area is declared), the Burien City Council has thoughtfully weighed the city's options and elected to consider annexation of a portion of the North Highline area.
Relax, opponents, this does not mean annexation will take place. It means Burien can get down to crunching numbers so that I won't have to puzzle over whose stats are correct, yours or the city council's.
It delights me that the council refuses to become paralyzed by the pounding it takes in every decision it makes, whether it be annexation, Town Square, 152nd Street improvements, Meal Makers or any of the other myriad projects/decisions that are required to move our city forward to a bright and economically viable future.
Annexation opponents, you indeed may vote these people out of office, but I and many others in our great city will probably neutralize your nay votes with yea votes come election time.
Thanks, Lucy, Jack, Sue, Sally and Joan, okay, even Rose and Gordon on this one. I may not always agree with you, but the best interests of our city are obviously at the heart of your decisions.
