Burien Little Theatre promises to puts the "fun" into dysfunctional with A Tuna Christmas, the hilarious sequel to the hit comedy Greater Tuna, which opens Friday, Nov. 24.
The play showcases two actors, along with some split-second costume changes, portraying all 24 citizens of Texas' third smallest town, Tuna, where the Lions Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies.
It's 24 hours before Christmas and all comic hell is about to break loose as the delightfully eccentric characters attempt to cope with such seasonal traumas as a disaster-prone little theater production of A Christmas Carol and a yard-decorating contest sabotaged by a mysterious Christmas phantom.
P. Diane Major, the director of Burien Little Theatre's smash 2006 hit Angry Housewives, is directing A Tuna Christmas, written by Ed Howard, Jaston Williams and Joe Sears.
Nathan Kirk will join Timothy Kelly, who was a standout as Serge in Burien Little Theatre's 2006 production of Art, in playing Tuna's residents. This show is not suitable for children younger than 8.
Burien Little Theatre's holiday production will run through Dec. 17. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. at the Burien Little Theatre's auditorium at Fourth Avenue Southwest and Southwest 146th Street.
