I hope it is not too late to cancel the purchase of the giant corkscrew to be placed in the Town Square.
It is by far the ugliest piece that I have ever seen. It is uglier than the Hammering Man.
My office is located on the property where Gunther's Tower stood. Dick Bissel and I purchased the land from Mr. Carleton and occupied Gunther's real estate office for many years. Later we constructed a new building on the site.
The original office was purchased by George Tweeny, a book collector. He moved the building to his property on Marine View Drive and used it as an office in his book collecting business.
The proposed sculpture does not in any way represent the roots of this community. Only in a nightmare.
