It's time for summer celebrations in Highline communities.
On this first weekend of summer, the annual International Festival will liven up Angle Lake Park in SeaTac.
And in Burien, the Strawberry & Arts Festival will return to Dottie Harper Park and the Community Center grounds.
International Days runs June 22-24. Hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
An always-popular highlight of International Days-the grand parade-begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Tyee High School and travels west on South 188th Street to 33rd Ave. S. There it turns south, traveling through Angle Lake Park and finishing at the Alaska Airlines headquarters parking lot.
"Under the Lights 3," the third annual skateboarding competition, will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at Valley Ridge Park, 4644 S. 188th St.
And the circus train contest, always a popular attraction, will begin at 8 p.m. Friday in Angle Lake Park, with registration at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, the first Family Fun will precede the parade at 10:15 a.m. The one-mile route will follow the parade route. Register on the day of the event at Valley Ridge Park. There is no fee.
From 1 to 6 p.m., the "Pride in your Ride" Car Show will take place at Angle Lake Park, where vehicles of many makes, models and years will be on display.
On Sunday, a Volks Walk will take place between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Electric model hydroplanes will race in the "Classic Thunder Unlimiteds" in Angle Lake between noon and 4 p.m.
The Children's Area at the festival grounds in Angle Lake Park will be open Saturday from 11:30 a.m. (after the parade) to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Headliners at the festival on Saturday and Sunday will include some of the hottest popular performers in the Pacific Northwest presenting different types of ethnic and cultural music -in addition to a wide variety of arts and crafts and ethnic food available from vendors in the park.
There also will be entertainment for kids.
Entertainers will perform from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Individual tickets are available on the day of the event, or all-day wristbands may be purchased for $10 (all ages).

BURIEN'S STRAWBERRY & ARTS Festival will showcase arts and crafts June 23-24, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
A multitude of new experiences will be available, including a playful stroll through temporary outdoor sculptures designed specifically for the woods inside Dottie Harper Park.
Brazilian, Balkan, and Filipino groups will parade through the Festival, while high school students model their latest fashions made from recycled trash.
A brigade of "artmobiles" will visit the event, and three stages will feature everything from jump rope performers to flamenco dancers.
Both a Saturday Skateboard Contest and new 5K Sunday Walk/Run at 9 a.m. are scheduled.
"It'll be the most festive weekend of the summer for Highline area residents", said Debbie Zemke, recreation manager for the city of Burien.
"With the Strawberry Festival happening the same weekend as Sea Tac's International Festival this year, people can enjoy three days of non-stop entertainment within minutes of their homes. Hopefully, they'll take advantage of both events and double their fun."
"Brasilfest in Burien" will feature the colorful performances of Show Brazil!, who will also be offering drumming, martial arts, and dance lessons and workshops.
Performers will entertain both Saturday and Sunday on the festival's main stage, gallery stage and kid's stage.
