The RCAA backs the Burien City Council and the Port of Seattle regarding suitability of the Lora Lake Apartments when the third runway goes operational-not without enormously expensive retrofitted sound insulation, which would take the place completely outside the category of "affordable."
It would undoubtedly be more cost-efficient to build new apartments, and of course, in a more suitable location.
It is unfortunate, to say the least, that the King County community at large has been on notice for years that the plans were to demolish the apartments.
