August 7 will provide you an opportunity to help make Washington a Cool State and keep our planet livable for future generations. That is the day Governor Christine Gregoire's Climate Advisory Team (CAT) meets from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center, 800 Convention Place, Seattle. The public is invited.
The Governor's goals for addressing climate change are to reduce pollution that leads to climate change, grow our clean energy economy, and move toward energy independence. She believes Washington will continue to be a leader in the clean energy economy with 25,000 jobs in this sector by 2020.
The Sierra Club will host a community comment room adjacent to the CAT meeting where you can learn more about the CAT process and prepare to give afternoon testimony. It's your chance to help make Washington a Cool State.
