Former Burien City Councilman Stephen Lamphear will take on current Councilman Gordon Shaw in the November general election for Shaw's seat.
Lamphear and Shaw were the top two vote getters for Position 4 in Tuesday's primary election.
North Highline annexation foe J. Fulop finished third.
Lamphear outpolled the incumbent with 1,081 votes (39.90 percent) in unofficial Wednesday returns on Aug. 22. Shaw received 1,009 votes (37.25 percent) and Fulop, 603 votes (22.26 percent.)
King County will continue to update returns by 4:30 p.m. each weekday at http://www.metrokc.gov/elections/200708/results.asp.
The election will be certified on Sept. 5.
In Tukwila, Kathy Hougardy (486 votes, 54.24 percent) and Brian P. Kennedy (239 votes, 26.67 percent) will vie for former Pam Carter's city council seat in the November election. DeSean Quinn received 166 votes (18.53 percent.)
Burien City Councilman Jack Block Jr. failed in his bid to follow his father onto the Port of Seattle Commission. Block finished fourth in a six-person race with 14,288 votes (11.00 percent.)
Challenger Gael Tarleton (41,996 votes, 32.33 percent) outpolled incumbent Bob Edwards (36,631 votes, 28.20 percent.) They will be on the ballot again in the general election.
Incumbent Alec Fisken (56,362 votes, 44.29 percent) will face challenger Bill Bryant (37,397 votes, 29.39 percent) for port position 5 in November.
The port operates Sea-Tac International Airport.
In the Democratic Party primary for King County Council District 8, incumbent Dow Constantine (100,069 votes, 90.75 percent) easily beat challenger Goodspaceguy Nelson (992 votes, 8.94 percent.) Constantine will run against John Potter, who was unopposed in the Republican primary.
Voters approved a 6-year property tax levy lid lift for South King Fire and Rescue. The department serves Des Moines and Federal Way.
The lid lift was approved by 8,356 voters (69.37 percent) while opposed by 3,690 voters (30.63 percent.)
William (Bill) Gates (4,319 votes, 43.60 percent) will run against Gary C. Bollinger (3,896 votes, 39.33 percent) in the general election for commissioner position 1 in the district.
Voters agreed to continue the existing property tax levy rate for the North Highline Fire District. The levy received 1,453 votes (74.36 percent) with 501 votes (25.64 percent) opposing it.
A proposition to maintain the property tax levy rate for the Burien/Normandy Park Fire Department was also approved.
The measure received 2,571 yes votes (69.22 percent) and 1,143 no votes (30.78 percent.)
