Both my husband and I will be voting for Gordon Shaw to retain his seat on the Burien City Council. While we don't always agree with Gordon, we find him to be very thoughtful about his decisions and willing to listen to all sides of an issue.

When his opponent was on the City Council, the Council was always divided into factions and there was a lot of animosity among the members. The meetings were often long and rancorous and therefore it seemed like there was less work accomplished.

For many years, I was an appointed member of two City Boards and found that Stephen Lamphear was very difficult to work with. I considered running for the Council but determined that it would be just too stressful to too deal with Mr. Lamphear on a regular basis.

I urge voters to choose Gordon Shaw. The City Council and the City Manager and staff seem to be working very well together and we want to keep up this mutual trust and momentum.
