Kennedy 3, Mount Vernon 0
The Lancers opened state 3A action in Kennewick by dealing Mount Vernon a 28-26, 25-13, 27-25 defeat.
Marissa Bittenc had 12 digs for JFK as Ashley Eneliko scored 17 kills and three aces. Bianca McCluskey had 36 assists and three aces and Paula Miles had five kills with Amanda Zilke contributiing 12 kills.
Kamiakin 3, Kennedy 0
Kennedy was defeated in the state quarterfinals by Kamiakin, 25-14, 25-21, 25-23.
Bittenc led with 14 digs and Eneliko led with 13 kills as McCluskey racked up 22 assists. Zilke scored five kills.
Kennedy 3, Mercer Island 2
The Lancers rebounded to score a 25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 22-25, 15-7 consolation victory over the Islanders.
Bittenc came through with 19 digs and Eneliko with 26 kills and four blocks. McCluskey had 10 digs and 51 assists as Miles had six kills and Zilke 15 kills and three aces.
Shorecrest 3, Kennedy 1
Kennedy finished seventh in the tournament with the Saturday 28-26, 25-24, 25-17 loss.
Bittenc had 14 digs and Eneliko 15 kills and four blocks. McCluskey earned 25 assists and had three blocks and Zilke had eight kills and three blocks. Ashley Smith contributed three blocks and three aces.
Girls soccer
SCS 3, Lakeside 0
Seattle Christian defeated Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls by a 3-0 score in 1A quarterfinal action.
Tianna Homad scored an unassisted goal in the 34th minute and Terrika Weaver scored unassisted in the 49th and 72nd minutes.
The state match was held at Gonzaga Prep in Spokane.
Issaquah 2, Kennedy 1
Issaquah came from behind to end Kennedy's stay at state Saturday, Nov. 10.
Amanda Arntz struck for JFK's first goal on an assist from Rebekah Kurle, then Issaquah picked up an unassisted scissor kick goal on a corner from Theresa Henle right before halftime.
The 3A quarterfinal game remained in a hard-fought stalemate until Issaquah scored the winning goal with only 30 seconds to play in regulation time.
Kate Deines scored on a corner kick, sending Issaquah into wild jubilation and Kennedy into shock.
