The battle in Burien between city Councilman Gordon Shaw and ex-Councilman Stephen Lamphear wasn't even close.
In the final certified returns, King County Elections reported Shaw received 4,203 votes (61.38 percent) while Lamphear garnered 2,605 votes (38.04 percent).
In the other contested Burien council race, Kathy Keene (3,736 votes, 57.47 percent) beat Ed Dacy (2,737, 42.10 percent.)
Doug Osterman with 1,642 votes (65.13 percent) ousted Councilman Stuart Creighton (869 votes, 34.47 percent) in Normandy Park.
Councilman Jim Haggerton received 1,655 votes (67.22 percent) to become Tukwila's new mayor, succeeding Steven Mullet who did not run for re-election.
Haggerton's opponent, Councilwoman Pam Carter, received 796 votes (32.33 percent).
In the contested Tukwila council race, Kathy Hougardy garnered 1,524 votes (65.10 percent) to beat Brian P. Kennedy (802 votes, 34.26 percent).
Bernie Dorsey will join the Highline School Board after defeating Melissa Sue Robinson. Dorsey received 11,675 votes (63.03 percent) while Robinson received 6,732 votes (36.34 percent.)
Results in the two contested Port of Seattle commissioner races were closer than those for Highline city seats.
Challenger Gael Tarleton (196,104 votes, 54.38 percent) unseated incumbent Bob Edwards (162,991 votes, 45.20 percent.)
Incumbent Alec Fisken (173,870 votes, 49.32 percent) was also defeated. Bill Bryant received 177,204 votes (50.27 percent.)
King County Councilman Dow Constantine, a West Seattle Democrat, with 33,779 votes (76.95 percent) won a landslide victory over Republican John Potter (10,014 votes, 22.81 percent) in District 8.
