Burien Man arrested in home for domestic violence
The King County Sheriff's SWAT Team made a mid-morning arrest without incident of a domestic violence suspect at a home in the 12800 block of Ambaum Blvd. S.W.
Shortly before 5 a.m., a woman calling 9-1-1said her boyfriend had physically assaulted her during the night and had not let her leave. She eventually was able to get out of the house and place the call.
Sheriff's office spokesman Sgt. John Urquhart said she accused the man, 41, of assaulting her physically (not sexually).
When the boyfriend would not come out, deputies obtained a search warrant and went into the house with SWAT Team about 9:25 a.m. The suspect was found in a back bedroom and taken into custody.
Urquhart said he was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of domestic violence assault and domestic violence unlawful imprisonment.
The victim, 38, was not serious injured.
Boy rescued after falling through thin ice on lake
January 23-onlookers pulled a 14-year-old boy from the water after falling through thin ice on a small lake.
A supervisor with the King County Sheriff's Office said the youth was out of the water by the time deputies and firefighters received an afternoon 9-1-1 call about the incident.
He was treated at Highline Medical Center and released.
Authorities cautioned that despite night-time temperatures that were below freezing last week, lake ice was too thin to support a person's weight.
