Track and field
Class 3A meet
Ryan Prentice of Mount Rainier earned victories in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter competitions. He took the 1,600 in a time of 4 minutes, 18.64 seconds and won the 3,200 in 9:16.42. Teammate Michael Miller took fourth in the 800 in 1:56.47 and Evergreen's Samual Williams placed eighth in the 200 in 22.42.
Vincente Cordova was fourth in the high jump at 6 feet, 5 inches for Evergreen and Anthony Palfrey of Mount Rainier was fourth in the long jump at 21-11.75. Jamaar Smiley of Highline came in fifth in the discus at 156-03.
Class 2A, 1A meet
Lexi Peterson of Seattle Christian took second place in both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash with respective times of 13:03 and 26:39.
Boys tennis
State 3A
Connor Thorp of Kennedy had mixed results in his stay at state. He lost his first match by a 6-3, 6-2 score, then rebounded to win his second match, 6-4, 6-0. A 6-1, 6-3 loss in his third match eliminated him from the competition.
Trevor Thompson and Trevor Larson of Mount Rainier found similar results. They won their first doubles match by a 6-3, 6-1 score and came back to win their second, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Thompson and Larson then bowed out with a 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 loss.
Jason Lim and Frazier Chen of Kennedy started off on the right foot, scoring a 6-1, 6-2 win to open the tournament. But they turned around to lose their second match, 7-5, 6-4, and lost their first consolation match, 6-2, 6-3, to be eliminated.
Girls tennis
State 3A
Tammy Do of Evergreen dropped out of the state tournament with back-to-back losses. She lost by a 6-0, 6-0 score and then dropped another 6-0, 6-0 score to be eliminated.
Maddie Guidos and Carly Henley played five matches at state before elimination.
The Highline duo opened with a 6-3, 6-2 victory and also won their second match, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3. They then took a 6-3, 6-2 loss and came back to post a 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 win. The second and final loss was by a 6-3, 6-1 score.

Golf
State tournament
Highline and Des Moines area players stood out on the girls side at the state competition held in Bellingham.
Stephanie Corey took second place in the Class 3A action with rounds of 75 and 76 that added up to 151. Foster finished fifth as a team in girls 2A action, with Mallory Kent shooting a 78 and an 81 for a 159 total and a second place finish.
Alexandra Keith of Seattle Christian came in sixth in Class 1A with rounds of 89 and 100 for a 189 total.

Baseball
Senior all-stars
Top seniors from the Seamount League tangled with seniors from the South Puget Sound League's Class 3A division in an all-star double-header at Auburn Mountainview last Wednesday.
The Seamount League won the opener by a 5-0 score with the help of Highline's Hayden Rovegno and Mount Rainier's Tyler Freudenthal, who combined to pitch a one-hitter.
The second game went to the SPSL, 7-3. Rovegno hit 2-for-3 in that game and Auburn's David Olson struck out seven in three innings
