Well, I just got another set of phone books on my porch to add to my already swelling number of practically identical ones from previous years.
Here's a thought, why doesn't the phone company give homes the option to have a phone book on DVD for their computer.
Since there is a large majority that has computers and probably use them already to find numbers and addresses this would be a natural progression.
Not to mention the attractiveness of pleasing the ''greenies" out there, it would undoubtedly save trees and lessen amounts in landfills.
I realize that some of us are computerphobes, so obviously the traditional form of phone book should still be available.
Phone companies could either mail out cards or phone about this alternative.
This method of storage of phone numbers could also offer other sources of advertising possibilities not possible in a book form of phone book that just requires some imagination, i.e. video or audio avenues of promotion.
Also, maybe the DVD could have an update option on them that could even make them more cost effective.
There are just so many advantages of this possibility, that I hope this will soon come to be a reality.
