I only wish that The University of Washington would also recognize this brilliant man.

I grew up in White Center.

I also had the opportunity to work for the West Seattle Herald and meet Jerry Robinson.

One of the books he wrote--an accumulation of columns from life in White Center from the 50's to the 70's-- is truly a gift for me and my family to recapture and preserve our early childhood days.

Jerry Robinson is truly a master of letters, history and social science.

He should be applauded.

I have a college education, and my only regret is that I could never match the likes of Jerry Robinson.
