The King County Jail notified police that a man with a history of assaulting his girlfriend had not returned from work release as scheduled. Given the man's history, jail officials were afraid the girlfriend might be in danger. Officers went to South Park to check on her welfare, but she was hesitant to let them in. When she finally opened the door, they could see the suspect trying to escape. He jumped from the third floor balcony, suffered serious injuries, and was taken to Harborview. Upon recoveryhe faces charges for violating a no-contact order. His girlfriend flatly refused to cooperate in any way with the officers who had tried to ensure her safety.
The SWAT unit and Anti-Crime Team closed down a pot-growing operation in a home in the 3900 block of SW Holden on Saturday and arrested the 45-year-old resident for investigation of drug charges with intent manufacture and deliver. Officers confiscated marijuana with a street value of nearly $80,000.
As the 14-year-old tried to walk out of a store with his stolen items, he bumped directly into an officer. The boy panicked and claimed that the chocolate milk shoved under his shirt had been purchased the previous week. (Amazingly, it was still cold.) His pockets also held a candy bar and an illegal switchblade knife. He was trespassed from the store and released to his mother.
Three teens entered a Delridge Way boutique, began shoplifting items, and then attacked the clerk, leaving her face swollen and bleeding. The suspects escaped.
Officers arrived at a South Park address after reports of a domestic assault. The victim?s face was bruised and scratched and she reported that her sister-in-law had become angry and attacked her. The victim also complained of head pain, and it was easy to see why: Officers found a large amount of her hair lying on the kitchen floor. Medics arrived and determined that she should be transported to the hospital for her injuries. The sister-in-law remains at large.
Citizens reported a suspicious car with two men sleepinginside near 14th and Barton. One of the men was under Department of Corrections supervision for drug violations and was clearly impaired when officers arrived. He carried a glass crack pipe and had other drug paraphernalia in the car. He was booked into King County Jail.
Officers went to a Junction-area address and arrested a 33-year-old who was hiding at his sister's house. He had allegedly punched his wife in the face, broken her cell phone, and stolen $1,500 rent money from her purse?all in front of their 4-year-old son. He is being held for investigation of non-aggravated domestic violence assault.
Four teens were questioned after they were seen trying to break into a car in the 3800 block of 45th SW. One was booked in toKing County Jail for investigation of attempted auto theft. One was a missing juvenile and was returned to her parent. A third?14-years-of-age was a missing juvenile wanted by Las Vegas police in a prostitution case. She was booked on a fugitive hold into the Youth Service Center.
