Carol McNeilly joined Federal Way on Sept. 9 as City Clerk. She manages the City Council docket, city records and files, handles public disclosure requests, and much more.
McNeilly was most recently at the City of Newcastle where she worked for the past eight years as the Deputy City Clerk.
She earned the designation of Certified Management Consultant and is working toward earning a Master Municipal Clerk Certification.
McNeilly's background is actually in business and criminal justice, but she landed in the field of municipal clerking at Newcastle and was mentored by former Federal Way City Clerk Laura Hathaway.
"I really enjoy clerking and I continue to learn and grow in the field," said McNeilly.
"I'm excited to be part of the Federal Way team; everyone here has been very supportive as I learn the ins and outs of a new city."
A Washington native, McNeilly grew up in the Ballard area. She now lives in Renton with her dog, Mia.
She enjoys gardening, spending time with friends and family, and volunteer work. She has volunteered with the Life Long Aids Alliance, Progressive Animal Welfare Society,
