More than 12 years in the making, but only minutes from completed service, Fast-Fix Jewelry Repair at the shopping mall in Southcenter further established their success with a move from a mall kiosk to a much sought after in-line storefront location.
Nadine and Clarence Jenkins, formerly from Anchorage, wanted to move south and work for themselves. The opportunity to open a Fast-Fix service center in a regional mall with a high percentage of tourism trade was what they'd been looking for.
Fast-Fix specializes in jewelry repair, from engraving to welding, practically while you wait. A customer can go shopping and in most cases, pick up their repaired items when they leave the mall.
Clarence, a former north slope welder for much of his life, decided to take up jewelry repair more than 20 years ago.
Now he welds with a special laser welder capable of mending many types of jewelry without solder.
Nadine handles the customer requests while her technicians and jewelry appraiser can turn typical work around in less than an hour.
They're open during normal mall hours and extended hours through the holiday season.
Fast-Fix is easily found inside the entrance between Racha and BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse, a bit west of the JC Penney store.
