Edward Charles Bintz, age 84, died Sunday March 26th in Flagstaff, AZ. He was born January 19, 1922 in Chicago IL to Edward and Clara Ohms Bintz. Edward married Lillian Bailey in 1943 in Chicago IL. He grew up in Chicago, graduated from Lane Tech and served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946. He lived in Round Lake, IL, Wauconda, IL, Phoenix, AZ, Sedona, AZ, Seattle, WA, and Flagstaff, AZ. He was a plasterer by trade and left his mark on many of Chicago's early skyscrapers.
Edward was a member of the First Congregational Church of Flagstaff, Changing Seasons Adult Day Program, Northminster Presbyterian Church in Seattle, Seattle Seniors Zoo Walkers, and the Sedona Westerners. He loved playing pinochle, cribbage, and scrabble and watching westerns. He met his wife Lillian at the Paradise Ballroom in Chicago and they continued to love dancing during their 60 years of marriage.
He is survived by his sons, Steven and Daniel Bintz, daughters Carolyn Blond and Nancy Archer, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and brother Ralph Bintz. Edward is preceded in death by his wife Lillian, a sister, brother, his parents and one grandson.
A memorial service will be held Sunday April 23, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 7706 25th Ave. NW in Ballard. A potluck will follow at the picnic area on the south side of the Ballard Locks.
