Clarence E. Pedersen was born on June 22, 1914 and died May 22, 2006 in Seattle. He was the son of Edward and Inga Pedersen and brother to Edel Fosterwld and Irene Bulman (both deceased). A life long member of Ballard First Lutheran Church.
He attended Webster Grammar School, Ballard High School and later Navy Gunnery School. At the age of 17 he ventured to Bristol Bay, Alaska on steamships to deckhand on tenders from 1931-1933. He retired in 1973 from the U.S. Coast Guard and Geodetic Survey (National Ocean Service). Member of Leif Erickson Lodge, Norwegian Commercial Club, Nordmorslag-Romsdalslag, Geodetic Survey Society, Nordlandslaget, Nordic Heritage Museum, American Legion Post 40, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3063, the Norwegian Seamen and War Veterans Association, the USN Armed Guard of WWII and the Ballard Eagles.
He is survived by his wife Winnifred of 60 years, five children, fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
