Astrid H. "Tyne" Haugland

Born March 7, 1911 in Malmo, Sweden and passed away on July 16, 2006 in Seattle, Washington. She immigrated to Washington as an infant and was raised on a chicken ranch in Bellingham. In 1934 Astrid married Norman J. Haugland in Bellingham. They were married over 39 years until his passing in 1973. Astrid was well known for her oil paintings of boats and landscapes and was also a wonderful gardener, well known for her raspberries and flowers. Astrid was active in several organizations such as: St. John United Lutheran Church, Children's Hospital Guild, Frihet Lodge # 401 of VASA Order, Occidental Chapter # 28 OES and Oriental Shrine #41 and the Northwest Senior Center.

Her two children survive her: Don (Judy) Haugland, Jeanne Woods, seven grandchildren; Eric Haugland, John (Shelly)Haugland, Katrina Haugland, Rey LeBoeuf, Timothy LeBoeuf, Cinnamon LeBoeuf, and Cheyenne Gooley. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and one brother, Lawrence (Lorraine) Anderson of Birch Bay, WA. A memorial service was held, Saturday, July 23, 2006 at St. John United Lutheran Church in Seattle.
