Age 85, passed away peacefully and went home to the Lord on November 12, 2006. He leaves behind his loving daughters, Cynthia (Jerry) Stewart of Lakewood and Kristin Norby of Seattle; sisters, Valborg Grande of Tacoma, and twin, Josephine Fiorito of Seattle. Many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, also survive. Predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Arlene M. (Anderson) Norby, and his parents, Johan Torvald and Julia P. (Jacobsen) Norby; two brothers and four sisters. He served proudly in the United States Navy during WWII, and was active in the Lutheran Church. He was also an active member of the American Legion Ballard Cochran Post No. 40 where he served as Post Commander and Adjutant for many years. He was in charge of the Post's annual Easter Egg Hunt at Golden Gardens, served as Commissioner of American Legion Baseball, and was involved in Boys State. He served as the Washington State Department Commander from 1986-1987. A Funeral Service was held Saturday, November 18th, at Wiggen & Sons Funeral Home with interment following at Washelli Cemetery.
