Passed away early on April 20 at the age of 79, after struggling with the disease of alcoholism for a majority of his adult life. He moved to Seattle in 1967 from Stockholm, Sweden and worked here and in Honolulu for United Airlines and was honored as one of Seattle's top five voices by the Seattle Times for his announcements at the airport.
He was an avid sailor who competed in the First World's Cup held in Seattle in 1973, in his 6 meter boat Noa. Jan loved traveling around the world and enjoyed eating oysters at The Brooklyn, he considered himself an International Playboy, Raconteur and Last of the Big Spenders. He is survived by his sister Brita Akereen of Stockholm Sweden, his daughter Paula Sjunneson Seattle and granddaughter Elsa Sjunneson-Norman.
