Gary passed away at home with his wife of 54 years, Carole, daughter, Dawn Johnson and son, Brian Christensen at his bedside.
Gary was born in Omaha, Neb. and moved to Ballard in 1948. After graduating Ballard High in 1952 He attended OC/PSNS engineering/training program in Bremerton where he met and married Carole (Winger).
He worked at Boeing for 10 years. He and his father founded "Lortone, Inc." Lapidary Equipment Manufacturing Co. in 1964. The business was at 28th and Market St.
Gary enjoyed tennis, golf, once getting a hole in one, bowling with a 300 game to his credit, he was an avid salmon fisherman and loved the water. He belonged to Queen City Yacht Club, Seattle for 24 years and won the QCYC/Seafair predicted log race in his boat "Topaz" in 1977.
They moved to Silverdale in 2003.
He was preceded in death by his parents Anton M. and Bessie L. Christensen and a baby daughter, Dani L. Christensen
He is survived by his wife Carole, daughter, Dawn Johnson (Bremerton) and son, Brian, wife Teri and granddaughter, Erika (Shelton) grandsons Devan, Shane and Kyle Johnson. Great grandchildren Scotty, Autumn, Allexis and Jason Johnson (Bellingham) sister Toni Geiger, niece Kelli and nephew Christopher Geiger (Mukilteo).
