Octoberfest is back in Burien after a brief hiatus and jam-packed with fun for all ages.

This year's festival from Sept. 24 through Sept. 27 features an overflowing entertainment lineup, ranging from award-winning blues to a dominatrix yodeler from "America's Got Talent," and deals on all-day passes to Burien's only full carnival.

Also on tap are beer and wine gardens, a benefit walk to aid homeless women, and 50-plus booths offering food, arts and crafts.

Davis Shows' mix of rides and games kicks off the festival Sept. 24 and offers thrills and chills through Sept. 27. New this year, take advantage of deep discounts by prebuying a special $16 pass good for unlimited rides all day.

Passes may be purchased at Sterling Savings Bank, 224 S.W. 152nd St., Elliott Bay Brewhouse & Pub, 255 S.W. 152nd St., and Goodie Gumdrops, 816 S.W. 152nd St.

The festival goes into full swing Saturday, Sept. 26 with the addition of an entertainment onstage at Fifth Place Southwest and Southwest 152nd Street, beer and wine gardens, and vendor booths.

Hoist a pint of suds or a glass of wine in true Octoberfest fashion at one of two outdoor beer and wine gardens.

On Saturday only, Elliott Bay Brewhouse & Pub will block off part of its parking lot to create a garden featuring the pub's house brews, a bratwurst cart and live entertainment.

Elliott's slate of performers runs from 2 to 9 p.m., starting off with the Mellifluous Cephyres, then ramping up with Jonathan Kimball and capping the evening with Sunderlyn. Inside, catch more music and Octoberfest menu items.

Mick Kelly's Irish Pub will be serving from Friday night through Sunday in front of the restaurant at 435 S.W. 152nd St. Mick's will dish up live entertainment Friday night through Sunday, plus German menu specials and outdoor barbecue Saturday and Sunday.

Shop the festival's 50-plus booths for unique arts and crafts, plus tasty eats such as Mexican and Hawaiian fare, hamburgers, hotdogs and more. Some vendors from the Burien Farmers Market will be on hand.

Also on Saturday morning join other walkers for an easy 2-mile stroll to help Hospitality House's shelter for homeless women, located in Burien. Dogs on a leash are welcome.

Register for the eight annual StreetWalk for the Homeless at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 26 for $20 at Southwest 152nd Street and Fifth Place Southwest at Burien Town Square.

The walk starts at 10 a.m. Afterward there will be a prize drawing for walkers who raise the most money through sponsorships. For sponsorship forms, call 206- 243-1597.

The carnival runs from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sept. 24 and Sept. 25, noon to 11 p.m. Sept. 26 and noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 27. Hours for the main festival are Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
