Thomas Jefferson battled to a 25-21, 25-13, 19-25, 16-25. 15-13 win over Kent-Meridian in the South Puget Sound League North Division opener for both teams Wednesday, Sept. 23.
The Raiders ran their overall record to 4-0 with the road win.
Allie Crowe came through with 36 assists to lead TJ in that department, while Katelyn Nugent had 22 kills, Kendra Ansotigue 14 kills and 18 digs, Megan Levesque four blocks and Owne’Tan-yay-tu recorded four blocks and 3 digs.
Kentlake 3, Federal Way 1
The Eagles came up on the short end of a 25-20, 25-22, 23-25, 25-12 score against the Royals in another SPSL North opener Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Jaleecia Roland had seven kills and four blocks for Federal Way, while Christiana Ventura racked up 15 assists and Monica McConnaughey had three aces.

Todd Beamer edged Federal Way last Wednesday, Sept. 23 even though the Eagles took the top two finishes. Meron Smith won in 14:02.3 and DeShawn Williams came in second in 14:28.5.
Luke Martin took third for Beamer in 14:38.9 ahead of teammate Jacob Whittman (14:44.6) and Federal Way’s Brandon Thornton (14:52.3).

Jeff Baklund of the Raiders took first place in 16:12.5 last Wednesday, Sept. 23 and Chase Braxmeyer came in fifth in 17:15.

Lacey Printz of the Raiders won in a time of 20:09.2 last Wednesday, Sept. 23 ahead of teammates Monica Jaenicke (20:35) and Leah Kiyohara (20:35).

Todd Beamer breezed past the Federal Way girls in last Wednesday’s action at Federal Way.
Sara Mussa of the Titans took first place in 16:49.7 ahead of teammate Taylor Kartes (17:05.6) and Jasmine Johnson of the Eagles (17:18.7).
Heather Hallstrom took fourth for Beamer in 18:40.9 ahead of teammate Lauren Thomas (18:48.3).

Alexus Song of Thomas Jefferson was in tune for a win with a 44 score, while Emily Victor of Federal Way shot a 47.

Thomas Jefferson scored a shutout win over Auburn-Riverside, with Joe Lee winning No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-0, and Branden Muraki won the No. 2 match, 6-4, 6-0. Makoa Rosa and Kainoa Rosa posted a 6-1, 6-2 No. 1 doubles win and Brandyn Gomez and Kyle Creek won No. 2 doubles, 6-0, 6-1. James Lee and Alex Lee were 7-5, 6-2 winners in No. 3 doubles.

Murali won No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-4, for the Gators, with Choi and Murphy teaming up for a 6-2, 2-7, 7-6 doubles victory and Eddy and Crahan won their doubles match, 6-1, 6-3.

Lindsey Dahl drilled in three goals to lead the Raiders to victory Thursday, Sept. 24. Hayley Albrecht, Chelsea Jensen and Hannah Friedman all added one goal apiece.

Kayla Upston earned the shutout for the Gators on Thursday, Sept. 24. Lauren O’Neal scored on an Ashley Graves assist and Hannah Herbert struck on an Abby McFaul assist.

Holland Crook scored one goal of her own and then assisted Tiarra Fentress and Jasmine Brillhante on goals. Brillhante turned around to assist Sara Miller on a goal.
