April 10, 1974-March 13, 2006
Beloved son of Kathy and Steve Edgell and Bill and Anita Duckworth. Josh graduated from Evergreen College in 1999 with a degree in fine arts. He was an accomplished artist who worked into the wee hours on his art projects. His favorite medium was making large sculptures out of scavenged metal parts and pieces. Josh also made and played the Australian instrument known as the didgeridoo. Josh lived life to the fullest; he was ready to try anything. Josh loved nature, from the smallest flower to the massive trees of the Northwest. He enjoyed camping and hiking. Josh learned to ski at the age of four at Alpental. Of all things he did, Josh loved snowboarding the most. Josh died at the age of 31 in an avalanche in Davos, Switzerland, having the time of his life. According to the friends with him there, he was on top of the world, physically, mentally and spiritually. Josh is survived by his parents, grandmother, Gwen Duckworth, brother, Brian Edgell (Kristine), nieces Anna and Emily, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. We will miss his shining soul. The bright light that was our beloved Joshua will be in our hearts and shine in the skies forever. He will be deeply missed. May God hold our son in the palm of his hand until we meet again. A celebration of his life will be held at the Vashon Island AYH Ranch Hostel (12119 SW Cove Road), Saturday, March 25, 3:00.
