The Kennedy Catholic High School girls volleyball team struck for a 25-21, 25-21, 25-23 victory over Seamount League rival Mount Rainier last Tuesday.
Malentina Timoteo racked up 19 digs and Alina Moss had one ace, 10 digs and three kills. Kathleen Mulligan chipped in eight digs, two blocks and 11 kills while Christina Postnikoff had two aces, five digs and 17 assists. Amanda Yapp added two blocks.

Seattle Christian School prevailed against Orting last Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Hazen 28, Kennedy 14
Stay away from Renton Stadium. Kennedy Catholic lost two games in a row at the facility near the Renton airport, this time losing to Hazen, 28-14, one week after losing, 21-14, to Lindbergh.
The Lancers started the scoring off in the Thursday, Oct. 22 action with L.J. Jennings running the ball in from the 1-yard line. Christian Velte’s kick for the extra point was good for a 7-0 lead with 4:46 left in the first quarter.
Hazen answered in the second quarter, scoring with 11:26 to go in the half. Jordan Bumgarner struck on a 5-yard punt return. The PAT kick failed to leave the score at 7-6 in favor of Kennedy.
James Holland then scored for the Highlanders on a 1-yard run and Anthony Pina ran for a two-point conversion to make it 14-7. The Lancers then forged their last tie at 14-14 to go in the third quarter, when Jennings ran for a 10-yard touchdown and Velte kicked the extra point.
But Hazen struck for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to wrest the game away.
Holland scored the first on a 1-yard run with 8:00 remaining, and the kick was blocked to leave the margin at 20-14. Holland then rumbled 68 yards for a touchdown with 4:24 left and Pina scored a two-point conversion.
Jennings carried the ball 13 times for 63 yards and two touchdowns. Ian Nobmann came in and ran for 77 yards on seven carries, while Antonio Valencia picked up 52 on six carries and Darian Brooks gained 31 on three.
Interlake 41, Mt. Rainier 0
Mount Rainier was kept off the scoreboard by the Interlake Saints in non-league action Thursday.
